At the end of the Child Development curriculum, we hope that students will leave Oaklands enriched in the following manner:
Child Development students at Oaklands leave the course with tremendous knowledge for their own or their peer’s lives. They are equipped with an understanding of key factual content in the field. Additionally, they have good drafting skills, excellent IT abilities, a confident approach to research and presentation, all of which are transferrable to all future learning.
From the start of the course we identify future aspirations from the learners.; why did they choose this course? We can then reflect towards the end of the programme on their next steps and the usefulness of the content and skills they have accrued.
Students enjoy Child Development because they can bring their own knowledge to enthusiastic and engaging class discussions as well as learning about inevitable life processes that they will encounter beyond the classroom.
