Year 7 Spanish

Research

  • Have a look at a map of Spain. Research a Spanish city of your choice- there’s so much more to Spain than the Costa del Sol. Create a presentation on the city.​
  • Find out 10 interesting facts about Argentina. Make a quiz for a member of your family or friend.​
  • Write the list of all the countries where Spanish is the official language.  Draw their flags next to them.​
  • For each letter of the alphabet find a food, adjective, place, boys name, girls name, animal in Spanish. ​

Watch

  • Watch a Spanish children’s film or cartoon on Netflix- you can use subtitles. You can change Children’s films into Spanish. Write a review in English.​
  • Watch a Children’s show in Spanish. E.g. Peppa Pig (you can turn on the subtitles) Write down any words you recognise.
  • Go to the Youtube channel Disney.es. Explore and learn a Disney song in  Spanish.

Do

  • Make flashcards for vocabulary from vocabulary book – use pictures to help.​
  • Create an opinion scale with pictures you have cut out from old magazines and news papers- write your opinions in Spanish.​
  • Teach some Spanish vocabulary to a sibling/family member.​
  • Use wordreference.com to write out a shopping list for a party in Spanish.​
  • Learn to count to 100 in Spanish.​
  • Change your phone language to Spanish.​
  • Email/message a friend in your class in Spanish.

Year 8

Research

  • Research a Spanish speaking (not Spain) country and produce a presentation all about it.​
  • Research the rooms of the house in Spanish. Draw a plan of your house and label the rooms. Or design a Cluedo game in Spanish.​
  • Research a Spanish recipe​- Make it if you can, take a photo and write an opinion about it.​
  • Research Spanish food/dishes. Design a menu for a dinner party in Spanish. Starter, Main course and Dessert.  Or design a tapas menu.​
  • Research a festival, how it’s celebrated in Spain and how it’s different to the UK: Easter, Christmas, Pancake day…​
  • Research The Spanish monarchy.  Draw a family tree of a few generations.​

Research

  • Research Careers where Spanish would be useful. Produce a Presentation about them.
  • Research a famous Spanish landmark and create a presentation: The Alhambra, la Sagrada Familia, el Prado museum, Royal Palace of Madrid
  • Research a famous Spanish person (film star, sports person, musician, scientist) and produce a biography in Spanish.​
  • Research a festival and how it’s celebrated in Spain and how it’s different to the UK: Easter, Christmas, Pancake day.​
