Fundraising Friday

In 2015 we started something in school called Fundraising Friday (FRF) the idea being that every 3 years we would devote a day to raising significant amounts of money for  charity, the event occurred again in 2018. Sadly, one of the casualties of COVID was the 2021 event.  However,  FRF it returned  this year. Students could opt to take part in a range of activities from a sponsored walk through to the day spent gaming. Other students chose a day of ‘extreme science’ or a morning football competition.

Families were asked to find sponsorship, or make a donation.

This year our chosen charities were:

British Heart Foundation – we lost our colleague, Alan Hammond, in July 2023, he was working at school when this happened.  Alan had worked with us for over twenty years on the Site Staff and we want to raise funds for a charity that helps people living with life-threatening heart conditions.

Rowan’s Hospice Meerkat service – many children in our community have experienced loss of a parent/ grandparent and have accessed their Meerkat service for child bereavement support. As such, we want to provide them with funding so that they can continue to run this vital service.

The day was enormously successful raising significant amounts of money.  Parents can continue to make donations to the two charities through the Scopay system until the 5th July

Since the start of this initiative in 2015 FRF has raised over £14,000. The total this year currently stands at over £3100

FRF  will return again in 2027!
