Tutor Worship
My experience of preparing our tutors worship assembly was amazing. I felt happy and confident to put the assembly together and then lead the rest of our year group in worship. In my opinion, these worship assemblies are excellent opportunities for students to pray and worship together as a whole community. My part in preparing our worship was to look for the scripture readings that were most appropriate. I found that while I was doing this, I was also thinking about God and my own relationship with God. This helped me reflect even deeper on what I wanted to share with my peers. I felt as if this preparation was part of my prayer, because it helped me to connect with God.
Students being involved in planning, preparing and then leading the worship assemblies is important because they are getting involved in worship and prayer. Being an active participant is an opportunity to let others know about my own faith, but also helps others know that they too can share their faith.
I also feel that enabling students to plan and lead worship assemblies contributes to making our community better because we as students we know that we are trusted to plan and lead such an important part of our community life. I am looking forward to preparing and taking part in our next worship assembly.
