Support for Ukraine

The student chaplaincy group decided that they wanted to do something to help the people of Ukraine. So students designed posters to publicise our collection.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of students, parents and staff.

We received lots of brand-new toiletries including over 200 tubes of toothpaste!  Our first van load was delivered on 25th March to the wonderful volunteers in Cosham who are sorting through a  warehouse of items that were shipped off directly to Ukraine on 31st March via a truck coming from the Ukrainian embassy.

Thank you to Mr Marshall and Mr Semple  deliver the donations to the sorting centre.

Stella’s Voice

In the Sixth Form, we have been collecting items for Stella’s Voice who work in Moldova and are helping refugees from Ukraine. On Wednesday 16th March, Jem, Bryan, Lili, Nadia and I, decided to help with the school’s efforts to support those in Ukraine. We took the donations made by Oaklands Sixth Form students on the minibus.  After the short ride, we all helped move the bags of donations into the Stella’s Voice shop in Havant. Stella’s Voice have collected enough to send a lorry to Moldova and vans to Poland and Calais. It was a good experience and really helped us all to know where our donations are going.  Hopefully we will be able to do so again soon with even more donations and supplies for those in need in Ukraine. Thank you to all those who donated.
